Modern Day Fairy tales... end in heartbreak
"My advice... my advice. Love's probably not worth it these days. You're just going to end up with heartbreak and a shitty story."

-Saul Ginsburgh
Just PD'd a dark Woody Allen-esque film. It was a big challenge and a lot of fun. The color scheme was very elementary and fairy tale playing of the main character being a grade school teacher and the flashbacks of his relationship being very fairy tale like. My team and I created a red fantasy room, a bright and cheery fairy tale room, a fun and colorful classroom, and a moody blue bedroom and balcony for next to nothing and in less than two weeks.

the colorado caveman comedy...
still recouping after this last shoot...
what an adventure...
a producer friend called me to PD a film he'd just jumped on board at 9pm on a Wednesday night and by 9am the next morning we were in his cady on our way Denver, CO.
my first caveman comedy... a feature shot in the Colorado mountains with three cameras doc style and mostly improvised. not enough money, time, or man power... but we pulled it off.
i had 7 days to prep this thing, thank god for craigslist and a producer willing to get his hands dirty... no way could i have done it on my own
our fearless Director, a crazy comedic genius
reindeer and badger spirits... these guys were brilliant
becoming bears under the full moon
2.5 miles up with set dressing yay for actors willing to carry mammoth tusks
the ranch we built our cro-magnon camp at was one of the most beautiful locations I've ever filmed at...
another great day to be a filmmaker

we were down one camera operator so the producers, myself, and our "star" Harry all took turns operating C cam... finally putting the film school degree to use
dazed and confused coming of age ceremony... it looks serious, but this scene was hilarious. Such a great group of actors.
when we came back the next morning the deer were frolicking in our camp... pretty priceless
riffle falls the caves and actors were amazing... more comedy ensued
"gift meat" quite possibly my favorite item to ever be listed on a prop breakdown tying only with neanderthal turds and reindeer placenta
